My work explores the transitions in the urban landscape. Responding to the surroundings and objects that I find, I narrate through textiles, prints and drawing its fragile co existence.
My fascination with fragmented surfaces and intricate detail is translated through fabric manipulation, embroidery and print. In which I will build layers and textures using various materials and techniques to create surface qualities that respond to the nature and character of the space.
An important part of my practice is tutoring in both educational and community settings. This continues to be a creative and inspirational experience in working with a variety of social groups and individuals. It influences my own work in terms of research and also learning and seeing how groups as well as individuals of different abilities respond to processes and materials in a range of expressive outcomes.
This current work has allowed the re discovery of traditional methods combined with different techniques. Influenced by changes in space and challenging projects.
